My Generation – 1965
My Generation was the title track from The Who’s debut album released in 1965. The song made it to number 2 in the UK Charts.
The Who at the time were Pete Townshend, Roger Daltry, John Entwistle and Keith Moon with the song going on to become somewhat of a Mod anthem.
My Generation also featured in The Who’s rock opera Quadrophenia in 1979 when Jimmy Cooper puts the song on at a house party on Kitchener Road. This is one of the most memorable scenes of the film as the young mods crash the party before all hell breaks loose, this song is the catalyst.
We had to come up with The Who T shirts as soon as we decided to pay tribute to our favourite songs and artists and there was no way we could leave this one out.
Though The Who themselves are old now, this song still gets a great reception during live performances.
