Cut My Hair – 1973
As part of The Who’s sixth studio album, Quadrophenia, Cut My Hair was just one of a number of tracks that helped the album, and later the film, become the huge success they are.
Released 6 years before the film, the album was their second rock opera with a story that centred on a young mod whose life spirals out of control.
Released in 1979, The Who’s Quadrophenia film became an instant hit with young mods of the revival generation.
With numerous reissues of the movie and soundtrack as well as countless artists citing it as an influence it is no surprise that Quadrophenia remains one of the most enduring works by The Who.
With older generations looking back at their subculture days and younger generations embracing their heritage it looks like Quadrophenia will be here to stay for a while.
Having the opportunity to pay tribute to The Who and Quadrophenia with our lyric T shirts is great as I have been a fan since my brother got Quadrophenia on video for Christmas in the 90’s.
