The Times They Are A-Changin’ – 1964
The title track from Bob Dylan’s 1964 album ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’, the track is a call for change calling out a great many that he saw fit to question about their attitudes. The 60’s were a time of great pop music but also great protest music that had a conscience and a point to it, this song, in particular, made an impact by reaching number 9 in the UK charts.
Over the years the song, like many others written and performed by Dylan, hasn’t lost any of its power and has actually been covered by a number of artists including The Byrds, Simon & Garfunkel, Nina Simone, Phil Collins, Billy Joel, Joan Baez and Bruce Springsteen.
Our Pop Nonsense T Shirts pay tribute to some of our favourite artists over the years and Bob Dylan is certainly up there. He is one of those artists that people discover at different points in their life. For me it was when my Dad had points to spend from buying petrol so Dylan was one of the CD’s I chose.
There is no doubting the impact that Bob Dylan had, not only on the music scene and artists that followed in his footsteps but also with his fans around the world.
